So if you have a new baby you have to get a new car! That is right! Shaun and I got this nice baby (car) just a few days after we got home from the hospital. The corolla is a great car but it is very tight in the back seat with 2 carseats and the ac takes forever to cool down in the back. We still have the corolla so shaun takes that to work and will take it to school. It is nice having my own car so now I can go places durning the day while shaun is gone at work.

And the other set of new wheels is a special Thank you to my Mom. It is everything I wanted! It converts to fit whatever stage your family is in. It has the infant carrier and regular child seat, it has the double child seat, and when KD is just too active to keep her sitting anymore she can stand in the back and gavin and sit in the front. It is really great. I talked with a lot of people trying to decide what kind of double stroller to get. I wanted to get a runner but you can't really take thoes to the mall to go shopping because they are so wide. Then when I was just looking at regular double strollers, and then I found the sit and stand! It is awesome. We will be able to get a lot of use out of it.

KD is in need of attention all the time but loves her little brother and is always asking to hold him. Everyone is doing well and we are loving every minute we get to spend all together!

4th of July Fun

We had a fun 4th of July just hanging out as a family. We drove down to our church building and watched the firework show at the Station Casino. KD isn't a fan of fireworks so she spent most of the night covering her eyes or cuddling with mom and dad. Gavin was sound asleep the whole night. After the show we went back to our house and watched the fireworks going off in the desert from our balcony. It was really fun.

We are going home!!!!!!

So after only one night of recovery we made our way home. Gavin is doing great! He is so mellow. He doesn't really cry at all, it makes me nervous that I won't hear him if something is wrong. I am recoverying really well. It is so different from the C- section with KD, so much easier! The hospital food was HORRIABLE!!!! Part of the reason I was so ready to come home, that and shaun didn't have a bed to sleep in. I know it is well know you don't go to the hospital for a good meal, but I didn't think it was all that bad before! Summerlin Hospital has the worst food EVER! I mean like all the food is mircowaved and not recognizable! Shaun and I enjoyed the alone time and getting to know gavin. We are now getting settled into our new life style and loving every minute of it.

Introducing Mr. Gavin Ryan Meng!

This is Shaun trying out as substitute blogger. With Brit recovering, and such big news in the Meng family, I thought that I would step in. Well, Gavin Ryan Meng was born at 10:23 am, on Thursday, June 25th, 2009. He weighed in at a beefy 6 lbs. 7oz., and he is towering at a height of 18-and-a-half inches. Brittany is doing fantastic. We scheduled an induction for Thursday morning, at 4:00am. However, after our doctor's appointment, on Wednesday, Brit started having contractions. Within 2 hours, the contractions were at 3 minutes apart, so we loaded up and headed to the hospital at about 5:00pm. Brittany labored for the next 15 hours and the beautiful baby boy came into our lives on Thursday morning. KD loves him, and loves to give him kisses, but we don't know if she knows that he is comming home with us yet.

Happy Birthday KD Girl!

KD turned 2 on Father's Day! It was a lot more low key than I had planned on but we had fun. We went to the pet store and bought KD a beta fish! She loves looking at him. Not sure of the name yet. Choosing names is a real problem in our family right now. KD keeps calling him mmmK so not sure if that will stick or not. KD's day was filled of fun and being pampered. Keri and I did her hair in an updo for church, and painted her nails. She got a new dress from her Nana and some great Little Mermaid jewlery from her Grandma! She blew out her candles all by herself and was so proud. Then really enjoyed scraping the frosting off the top of the cake. Reminds me of last year. That is all she ate on her 1st birthday too. Funny girl. She ran around all night like a crazy person screaming and having fun. She knew it was her birthday and she was living it up! We love you KD bug!

Still No Baby...

Well I am still pregnant. Which now that I am not deathly sick isn't that bad. I have had this flu like thing 3 times this pregnancy. KILLER! I had to have an IV 2 of the times that I got sick. This last time I got so sick it put me in the hospital. I didn't even know that I was in labor from being so sick or maybe the other way around. They aren't sure what was wrong with me but I just couldn't eat. But I am doing so much better now. And I have been really blessed with it being only in the 80s for the past few days and even if I do get too hot I have been just going to the pool, and working on my tan. So things are going better. We are on for being induced next week. This weekend we will celebrate not only father's day but KD 2nd birthday! My sister is coming into town too, so we will have a lot going on. It is all great and exciting! Shaun is working like crazy at the law office and soon KD will have her little brother! We will keep you updated!

This weekend thanks to Aunt Kali, KD is sleeping in her big girl bed all by herself! She was so ready to move into her room. We finished painting her bed and finally bought bedding that was suppose to be her birthday present but I couldn't wait to put it on, it is so cute! Well she started climbing out of her crib again! Shaun and I tried a couple of times to have her sleep in there but she would go to sleep then wake up scared to death in the middle of the night so we would put her back in her crib. Well while Kali and JT were watching her KD stayed in bed all night and has every night and nap time since. We are so proud of our KD girl!

Shaun is so wonderful! He completly surprised me this weekend with having his brother JT and Kali come into town and watch KD for us for the night while we went out to celebrate our anniversary. The weekend of our real anniversary was filled with moving, family and graduation so not much romance happened. He had the whole evening planned, filled with romance. He even bought me a new black dress to make me feel extra special in. We went out to dinner and then went to the Mirage to see the show LOVE. It was out of control. The best way to describe it would be just craziness. The whole time their is something happening and you never really know where to look because so much is going on. It was so fun! After the show we went out for ice cream and enjoyed an evening alone. It was my first time spending the night away from KD so we was constantly calling JT and Kali to see what they were up to and how KD was doing! They were so great with her and she had a great time! Also special thanks goes out to Shaun's best friend Brandon who hooked us up at the extremly expensive hotel for way cheap!It was so nice to get away and have just us time. Specially since we will be having another baby in just a matter of weeks! I LOVE YOU SHAUN!!!!

The Albright girls got together to throw me a baby shower! It was so sweet of them to think of me. I am so grateful to already have such great friends here in Vegas! We played a lot of fun games and had yummy port of sub sandwitches. This baby boy will be dressin in style with all the cute clothes we got and his feet will never be cold! Thanks everyone who came and helped!

where did the time go?

Seriously this pregnancy has gone by so fast. Every morning I wake up, look down and say "WHAAAAT!!!!"

We have doctors appointments every week now. This last one we talked with the doctor about being induced on the 25th at 4 am. So if he hasn't come on his own by then, they are taking him by force. I wasn't really excited about being induced but because we don't have a lot of options with having KD by C Section and now we are trying for a VBAC this is what the doctor recommends. So wish us good luck! Cause we will be a family of 4 in only a matter of weeks.

This weekend we went to a radio kids day fair at Sunset Park. It was a lot of fun. We got a ton of free stuff and KD was so tired by the end of the day from playing so hard. It was so hot, but we managed to not get sunburned. Luck I tell you since all of us have such fair skin. We are trying to do special fun things as a family before the next baby comes and well, the summer will be very different, life will be very different after that.

For a fun birthday outing we went to the Secret Garden wildlife habitat at the Mirage. It was so fun! We loved it! KD really enjoyed seeing the lions and tigers! She just kept growling every time she saw one. They even had a 5 month old leopard. But our favorite part was watching the dolphins do tricks.

For lunch we went to Pompos De Brazil. So good! Shaun even got free dessert for it being his birthday. KD was really freaking out about the sparkler. Maybe it was because we were inside but she did NOT like it. We left so full!

KD loves playing outside. Since she was cooped up all winter while we lived in Rexburg, she takes any chance she can get to get outside. She also really enjoys playing with side walk chalk. We have been working on writing her name, I know a little young, but it is fun because she will just scribble and say K D and then clap.

So I haven't done a lot with the bedrooms yet so no pictures until I make them look cute. But we, for the most part, are getting settled in. I really enjoy the area. Across the street there is a park that is perfect for KD and 2 pools. Which I can't wait to go swimming in once the water heats up. As KD kept saying while we were there last week, "TOO COLD!" There are so many kids to play with and the weather is great. Shaun is enjoying his job and is getting excited to start school in August.

So we went and saw shaun's best friend Brandon at his job at the Encore Hotle on the strip the other night. He works at the Rolex shop. He had me try on a neckless that had like 56 carrots of diamonds worth $873,000.00!!!!! I was getting so nervous with it around my neck. We should have taken pictures but I was already feeling so ghetto in this way high end store. This couch is in one of the store next to brandon's. It is made out of all crystals worth like $80,000.00 is what I think Brandon told me. Crazy! That is right KD is standing on it!

KD is loving her new bed. We just got it this weekend. We are hoping to have her sleep in the BIG GIRL bed before her little brother comes. We will see!
(It is still in the plastic. We aren't keeping that on it!)

This weekend we went to a rummage sale and got KD a bed frame. We are sanding it down and we are going to paint it. I think, I hope it turns out cute we will let you know!

Starting to get BIG and Pregnant!

I love where we live!There are so many cute family community events to go to. On Friday night we went to the movies in the park. It was free and we loved it! The park is really cool, not so much for little kids, more for older people. It had lots of spinning toys that shaun and I made ourselves sick on. It was a lot of fun. The movie they showed was Nim's Island which we hadn't seen before. The movie was ok. KD really liked all the animals and I was just enjoying being with my family and the warm night. So different then Rexburg. We got subs and KD chicken nuggets and had a little picnic while we watched the movie.

Easter was a little different this. We were in the middle of a move so dinner was cooked in disposable dishes and we ate on paper plates. Everything was great though. Just a little messy!

That whole day, well whole week was a total blur. The pictures are the only proof to myself that I made it through. We were so grateful for all the help and support from our family. We feel so blessed to have had so much help. My mom came early to help us during finals to take care of KD so shaun and I could study and helped us pack, and after graduation Shaun's parents and Kali did so much to help us actually get out of the apartment. We couldn't have done it without them. Graduation was so crazy, the whole time I was just in shock that it was here. And now that I look back I can't believe that it is all over. Though I would complain all winter long how excited I was to leave Rexburg, when the moment came, I found myself crying that it was over. While at BYU-I we made so many good friends and Shaun and I grew so much while living there. Rexburg, though I hate to say it will always be where Shaun and I call Home.

That is where we had our first apartment and brought KD home from the hospital.

On a side note, I am so proud of Shaun in graduating and recieving the Newel K. Witney award and getting into Law School. He has worked so hard for our family and it has really paid off.

Good Job in only taking 4 years to graduate and not a day longer!

Not only was it the happiest day of my life but I married my best friends. Now he is stuck with me FOREVER!

Things are really crazy for us right now.

We graduate today

and have lots of family in town to help us celebrate! So with an anniversary, graduation and moving we have lot to stuff going on. A little stressful, but we are trying to just enjoy our last few days in Rexburg.

LAS VEGAS HERE WE COME!

Shaun got into UNLV so we are moving on monday! Congrats to him! We are moving just a few doors down from our good friends Ashlee and Rico Jensen and we could not be more excited! We are renting a house, (WE HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT) with 3 bedrooms next to a community pool and the park. We are excited to start our new adventure in LAS VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!

KD loves playing with her dolls. She is going to be such a good big sister. It is funny to watch her play with her dolls. She will try to put diapers on them, and give them her sippy cups. I know this because of their faces and the floor being covered in milk. She is learning so fast. Such a cute girl! Also she is starting to talk more and more every day. She really likes to say the word NO! Quite the attitude. Hopefully she will grow out of it. Other words she is getting really good at is please, and cup, she can say a lot of body parts like eyes, nose and toes, and hi and bye, she will kind of count to 3, because we are her parents we know what she is saying and she says Jesus. There is a new word every day. It is so fun to watch her grow and Shaun and I are so grateful for her sweet little spirit.

Our ward had an activity on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Shaun's car came in 3rd, well really 2nd but his wheel fell off. He didn't have a lot of time to work on it since he just got back from visiting Pacific late the night before. I think he did a really good job and he was very creative!

we are really excited that we get to graduate together!

Shaun and I picked up our cap and gown for graduation today! Pretty crazy the day is almost here! We will be done! Well kind of. Still have 3 years of law school. Still haven't decided on where we will be going to school. We will be moving to Las Vegas in a month. But we don't know if we will be staying for law school at UNLV or not. Shaun has been accepted to Gonzaga with scholarship, also Seattle University both in Washington, and Pacific University in Cali. We still haven't heard from UNLV and some other schools which is driving us crazy not knowing. So we are just trying to figure out which one will be best for our family. Lot of big decisions we have to make! But we are excited about our new adventure of a new place, a new school and a new baby!

Valentine's Day Eve we had a heart shape pizza, KD's favorite, and dipped strawberries for our day of romance the next day. They were as good as they looked! Looking at them makes my mouth water! Yummy!

We are having a Baby! ITS A BOY!

BIG week for the Meng Family. This is me and the baby belly! We just found out we are having a BOY! Shaun and I are both so excited! KD doesn't really know what is going on, but she will kiss my belly and it's cute. We are due JUNE 26. We aren't sure where we will be in June but are excited about the new addition to our family. Back 2 School

So WE are back to school. I start classes at 7:45 OUCH and get done in the early afternoon and then Shaun goes to school and work in the evening. I was really nervous about starting school. Being gone from KD and I am taking a math class!!! RRRRRRR! I have put it off as long as I could. I really don't like math. But so far it hasn't been that bad, it is more of an English class then math which is funny. It is also really fun to come home and hear stories of shaun being MR. MOM, which really he enjoys but he is starting to understand how it can be draining. Today they had a dance party to Jerico road. Random CD I know, but KD is really into dancing these days, at the beggining of all the shows on TV she dances to the theme music, it is really cute. Oh shaun will be mad that I posted this but shaun got his LSAT score back and did really well!

Christmas Eve Tradition

This is my family on Christmas Eve making as much noise as possiable. We are pretending to make music that is suppose to sound like christmas carols. It is one of my favorite traditions that our family has done. It is funny, you can go back to even when I was a baby and our Christmas Eves all went the same way, the only things that changes is our hair and what we wear.

We went to Bell Square mall for the drummer boy band on snowflake lane. I love this kind of stuff. We had so much fun getting candy cane suckers and listening to music. They even had a bubble machine that looked like snow. They didn't really need it since while we were there it snowed like 8 inches. We just couldn't get away from it this christmas.

KD slept a lot! Lucky us! It wasn't the most comfortable ride but we made it. We had fun driving even though it was long. We saw a crazy accident where this lady almost went off the over pass because it was icy. All in all good memories.

This is the work of shaun. The cinnamon bear was "tearing into the throat of the sour patch kid." You can't see but I did have a sour patch friend coming to save him on his candy cane motor scooter. We had a lot of fun putting it together and eating so much candy it made our stomachs hurt. I told Shaun I want to make this a Christmas family tradition.

We had our ward party this past week, and we had a chocolate fountain. When we got home from cleaning up, I was too tired to clean up, so the next morning when I was getting all the chocolate out of the dishes KD found this big piece and started enjoying it throughly!

We flew home from Hawaii on Thanksgiving morning. The Wardles picked us up from the airport and feed us breakfast. After freshening up from the 7 hour flight we drove to JT and Kali's in Provo. I was so sad that our vacation was over and we were leaving so shaun set up one last surprise. He got us a limo to take us to the airport. I have never been in a limo before so it was a lot of fun. When we got to the airport it was fun to pretend we were really famous and important. I loved this vacation so much. I am so grateful to shaun for making this happen. I love you babe!
